Jonathan Norwood

Education

Dr. Jonathan Norwood is a post-doctoral clinical psychologist currently under the supervision of Dr. Richard Yuen and Dr. Bill Dubin. Dr. Norwood graduated cum laude from the Louisiana Scholars’ College at Northwestern State University in 2004 with a B.S. in Psychology. He pursued graduate training at Forest Institute of Professional Psychology where he earned his M.A. in 2008 and Psy.D. in 2010, both in Clinical Psychology. While enrolled at Forest Institute, Dr. Norwood helped to establish the program’s child and adolescent cluster as well as a student-led organization devoted to promoting understanding of child and adolescent mental health issues.

Specialty

Dr. Norwood is a Cognitive-Behaviorally focused clinician serving all age ranges with an emphasis on child behavior and emotional problems. He has provided therapy and assessment services to individuals, couples, and families in community-based private practices, a university-based learning diagnostic center, as well as a rural public school system. Dr. Norwood’s Masters thesis and doctoral dissertation concerned the use of traditional martial arts in the treatment of children with disruptive behavior disorders.
